A teen girl (Raymonde) goes missing after a night of partying and only her friend (Kendrick) is concerned enough to look for her.

“Elsewhere” is not that bad. The actors played all their stereotypical parts. If you watched enough “Scary” movie you know who’s the kill but its still worth it to watch.

“Elsewhere” takes the metaphorical teenage desolation and turns it literal. The two leads are two version of the modern latchkey kids. Sarah has the stable home but her single mother is always away for work. Jillian has a mother on disability that only wants her around to pick up the slack in the bills. The both are alone fending for themselves in this world and they can only count on each other.

Its a good plot but I don’t think most teenagers are savvy enough to be detectives like this girl is. Some of the things that Sarah figures out a little too convenient. Most teenagers don’t know how the technology in the world works as long as it works. But that’s not to say that it doesn’t work in the confines of this movie.

The final revelation is worth watching this movie but it still leaves you wondering. I have two theories but I think one is more probable than the other. But still the kill was transparent the moment they walked on the screen. It was only a matter of it if it was one or two.

I give “Elsewhere” 3 out 5 Gs.

When a bored-with-life English teacher meets a West Coast Swing champion dancer, they have an instant connection. Both feel that the other can fulfill what was missing in their lives. But Jessica’s got a workaholic fiancée who’s not a bad guy when he’s not on his Blackberry, and Jake’s got his former partner Corinne, who just won’t let Jake away from the dangling carrot of a rekindled relationship. Jake and Jessica must try to elude all obstacles, romantic or otherwise, to stay focused on the goal – winning the World Title and winning each other. Will they give in to the pressure or come out like champs? Written by lndguy

This is a great film that teens and adults can watch and appreciate together. This is the spirit of what independent films are about. Telling an interesting story without all the Hollywood drawbacks. Love N’ Dancing is entertaining but also had a message to it.

A nice change of pace for Amy Smart. This role complemented her where as the dancing progress either make-up or the dancing did bring out a glow in her. Bring out a natural sexiness to her. It one of the things that makes this film work her transformation.

Love N’ Dancing has an great message about fulfilling one’s potential despite a disability. It showed that you have the ability to overcome if you work for it. A great message for everyone out in the world.

Although it a romantic movie it doesn’t pigeon-hole itself as a “chick-flick”. If you have an appreciate for dance then you will like this film. It you like an obvious love story then it for you. Love N’ Dancing is a film you can enjoy with tweens and older.

I give Love N’ Dancing 3 out 5 Gs.

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind. Written by Warner Bros. Pictures

Christian Bale is today’s top action action star. Mainly this movie was overshadowed by the “rant hear around the world”; with that aside this is an awesome action movie, totally reviving the Terminator series. Salvation takes the series in a new and interesting direction.

The first three were about stopping John Connor before “Judgment Day” and now its about the stopping him during the war. He is a war harden Connor that’s seen horror that are unimaginable and probably survived many of them.

There were so many things happen in Salvation that one can even beginning to classify this. At face value you would say an action movie. But at the heart of this film is a man still trying to come to grips with the responsibility of his destiny. He continuing to listen to the voice of the past for guidance. He’s also questioning his own knowledge.

McG loves explosion. In the right theater you feel all the explosion too. The so much destruction that you really to believe the world is desolate and destroyed. I picked up on another interesting character plot… how human devolve into territorial primalistic heathens.

This is a great revival of the series and an interesting first chapter in the next trilogy in the Terminator series. I can’t wait to see what comes next with so many possible stories left to tell.

I give Terminator: Salvation 4 out of 5.

It explores the backstories of James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) before they unite aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise to combat Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan from the future who threatens the Federation.

I’m a casual fan of Star Trek. I almost crossed over when I was younger when Next Generation came out but Deep Space Nine happen and my world imploded. I could never recapture that magic I had from Generations. Yes I checked out the others and Enterprise may a good only because I a fan of Quantum Leap and Scott Backula. Voyager and Seven of Nine, God I miss that show.

Fanboys at work were stating that J.J. Abrams just shit on Star Trek. Although he incorporates some of his patented motifs, Star Trek was easily accessible to everyone. You don’t have to be a fanboy or a casual viewer of Star Trek. You just have to come to the theater sit down and enjoy two hours of one of the most exciting ride you will see this summer.

Abrams made a film that everyone will enjoy. It’s a good blend of characterization, drama, action, and scifi. Under this reimage some of the backstory change. With material this old you are going to have to update and modernize. It respects the fanboys and brings another generation aboard the Uniter Star Ship Enterprise.

I give Star Trek (2009) four out of five Gs.

“The Boarders”

NAFTA= North American Free Trade Agreement

Buried deep in this agreement there are provisions for the “mobility of persons”. It’s one of the worst crimes committed everyday around the world but leaders are more concerned about oil. The sex trade, I say sex trade because to call it underground sex trade, would imply that everyone doesn’t know about it and that’s just not the case. We hear about it in the news and its becoming popular topic in movies. It’s like there trying to make it an urban legend in pop culture.

We walk around, girls in particular, with no care in the world wanting to see the world, thinking it an oyster, when its a sess pool of sh8t. I have a sister and it would horrify me if it happen to her. Yet it happens everyday under the guises of different scams. Mostly girls lost and never found.

If, we care about this “urban legend” as much as we cared about “Saving the Music” it could probably save thousand of girls. But with anything illegal. Flesh is big business just as cocaine. That’s one of the factors of not legalizing the drug.

It would restrict handlers from controlling the “cargo”. Then what would they do. Supply and demand; everyone’s turning the cheek. Look at Natalee Holloway, their parents had her all over the news and its so big that Aruba had to sweep it under the rug, lest she destroy their tourist status.

Another thing, all these crimes are written off as something else. They claim those boy murdered her but yet they have not yet found a body. We are over in the Middle East. Knock down some doors to the “princes” heirlooms and see how many classified missing, lost, dead girls he has in them. Can a person be stolen goods?

It you haven’t figured out what I talking about watch: Spartan, Shuttle, Trade
, and Taken. They show just how fast a girls life can go horrible wrong in the spilt second of an eye. It also should be training manuals for anyone going leaving the country.

After 5 years circumstances bring FBI Agent Brian O’Connor and Dominic Toretto back together again. This time it’s to avenge lost friends and to bring down an international drug cartel.

This time around the original parts are better sync’d. This is the proper sequel to ”The Fast and the Furious” . Yes this has all the flash, or should I say flesh, as the others but this time is about the story and not about the cars. The stunts are ramped to the next level just as you expect but done uniquely that helps to reinvigorate the series.

“Fast & Furious” is the best in the series and it also is a fitting conclusion to it. It does a great job of telling a thrilling story but wraps up the original in a tight little bow. Anymore sequels would be repetitive. The series is back at the top of its game. The well is tapped, please don’t be out any stagnant water.

Take the action and characters from ”The Fast and the Furious”, ¾ the plot from “A Man Apart” and ¼ the plot of “Running Scared” and you have the film that is “Fast & Furious”.

I give “Fast & Furious” 4 out 5.

Kym (Anne Hathaway) returns home after a stint in rehab days before her sister, Rachel’s (Rosemarie DeWitt) wedding to Sidney (Tunde Adebimpe), a musician. Her return brings long standing family drama to the surface.

Rachel Getting Married is a film that feel and looks more like a documentary that a film. The drama and the performances seem so real and you get so quickly drawn into this family’s drama and disfunction. The award that have been laud over Ms Hathaway are well deserved. Her character is tragic, real and shows the multilayers of dysfunction.

This a drama about a family revolving a person glimpse of life. There are so many circle of interest that peaked me as a view that I wanted to know about but was never informed upon. You are a guest into this family’s birth and the celbration of it and the drama around it.

Many critics have said that Rachel Getting Married is a must see of 2008 and it totally agree. You will not come away from this film disappointed. I think it will make you appreciate the people in your lives and the family that you love.

I give Rachel Getting Married 4 out of 5.
