Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind. Christian Bale is today’s top action action star. Mainly this movie was overshadowed by the “rant hear around the world”; with that aside this is an awesome action movie, totally reviving the Terminator series. Salvation takes the series in a new and interesting direction.
The first three were about stopping John Connor before “Judgment Day” and now its about the stopping him during the war. He is a war harden Connor that’s seen horror that are unimaginable and probably survived many of them.
There were so many things happen in Salvation that one can even beginning to classify this. At face value you would say an action movie. But at the heart of this film is a man still trying to come to grips with the responsibility of his destiny. He continuing to listen to the voice of the past for guidance. He’s also questioning his own knowledge.
McG loves explosion. In the right theater you feel all the explosion too. The so much destruction that you really to believe the world is desolate and destroyed. I picked up on another interesting character plot… how human devolve into territorial primalistic heathens.
This is a great revival of the series and an interesting first chapter in the next trilogy in the Terminator series. I can’t wait to see what comes next with so many possible stories left to tell.
I give Terminator: Salvation 4 out of 5.
