Robert Downey Jr.
PG13 125min 2008
Tony Stark is a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.
Iron Man is one of the quintessential comic book movies. This is a great addition to the growing collection of Marvel films and one fo the first from the newly minted Marvel Studios. With this talented cast this film was faithed to be a blockbuster.
In the two major comic book companies Marvel is outshining DC by leaps and bounds. Marvel does need the major record set films as DC does because of the shear volume of films that Marvel has put out or has in development.. Since 2000 every year there has been a marvel film released and Iron Man is one of its best.
Iron Man has the drama and heighten reality of the comic world. The cast is great and believable in this created world. Creating the drama that is relatible to all. Downey is amazing as Tony Stark. He is the live action embodiment of the character. But he is not to be outdone by Howard and Paltrow, who’s character support Stark and all of his flaws.
The effects are amazing helping the audience to get lost in the film. Coming in at 125 min, it’s a quick paced giving the audience a film that will entertain the entire family. For those who are uninformed to the comic, this is a good representation of the comic. It gives some the best quaility for an introfilm. But with wealth of untold stories this film is an amazing beginning to a great franchise, and hopefully an amazing super project to come.
I give Iron Man 4 out 5 Gs.
