“Slow Burn”is about a district attorney (Ray Liotta) is involved in a 24-hour showdown with mysterious man (James Todd Smith) and is, at the same time, being manipulated by an attractive assistant district attorney (Jolene Blalock). – from imdb
It’s a character driven crime mystery with a stellar cast. There were no small parts in this great ensemble cast. The time it took to get distributed hurts this film. This film at one time was on a movie trailer known as 5 a.m.
Every character in this film is a part of the story without any one of the characters the film falls apart. They give outstanding performance in their individual parts. Based on this outstanding cast of actor you can deduce what is going to happen. This is one instance where the sex scenes distract from the film.
The time it took for this film to get on scene hurt this film. If you have seen many of the film that has come out with these actors in them they have higher profiles than when this film was made in 2001. The twist in the film becomes predictable because of it. That will be the major factor in if you enjoy this film.
This DVD has a few noteworthy features. There is a director’s commentary. There are alternative and deleted scenes. It has an informational trivia track. It has the movie previews for “Pride”, “The Condemned”, “Bug”, “Played” and “Crooked”.
I give it 3/5 Gs.
